The three categories of membership are as follows:
(a)
Full Member, (b) Retired/Emeritus Member, and (c) Student Member.
The minimum standard for election to Full Member status shall be either: (a)
Licensure by the Tennessee State Board of Examiners in Psychology as a
Psychologist or Psychological Examiner, (b) Employment in a faculty position
in a Department of Psychology of a recognized university or college, or (c)
possession of a Master's degree or higher in Psychology from a recognized
university or college. "Department of Psychology" refers broadly to
specialized training programs, to include Educational Psychology, Industrial
or Organizational Psychology, School Psychology, Counseling Psychology and
Clinical Psychology, as well as psychology training departments located in
Colleges of Liberal Arts and Colleges of Education. "Recognized" shall be
defined as institutions of higher learning that hold accreditation by
regional accrediting agencies or approval by State Departments of Education.
